Our story

1921

Georg Nolte and his business partner together founded their own company with an initial capital of just 20,000 Marks

1932

One of Georg’s customers filed for bankruptcy and shut down his furniture factory, George seized the opportunity and acquired it and started producing bedroom furniture.

1947-48

Georg’s son Konrad proves to be a visionary and brings fresh new ideas on board. He pioneers assembly-lines for furniture between 1947-48 and alters the global furniture industry once and for all.

1958

The first mass-produced two-door wardrobes left the factory. Germersheim, the location of Nolte’s fourth furniture factory, puts Nolte in the forefront of the German furniture industry.

1965

Proved to be a busy year for Nolte. Every day, 250-bedroom suites roll off the production line, ready for transportation. “A piece of furniture must not remain static, but it has to keep on moving forward until it reaches the consumer” – Konrad Nolte.

2006

Nolte finally arrived in India and opened its flagship store – the first Nolte Home Studio, in Bangalore. Nolte also wins the Red Dot Design Award.

2009-10

The company’s commitment to sustainable forest management earns it the Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) and the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). Special kitchen range was also founded for projects at this time.

2016

2017

Nolte's very first partnership was with World On A Plate, one of the biggest international food festivals.

2021

June 2021 marks Nolte’s 15th anniversary in India.

2021

Today there are more than 10,000 families, across 18 cities, where Nolte is welcomed home.

2021

Nolte’s remarkable journey has seen many milestones and today, its luxury kitchens are found all over the world.

It all starts with having the right infrastructure

Nolte kitchens are produced on a massive site measuring around 100,000 m2 in Lohne and Melle. This is where Nolte’s quality promise of ‘Made in Germany’ originates. They soon purchased grounds in Melle in 1974 and constructed their 2nd production site in 1981.

Just a year later, they started the production of worktops at the factory in Melle. In 2017, they built a warehouse for door fronts and consignments. With a solid and extensive infrastructure such as this, it’s no surprise that Nolte delivers products that are one-of-a-kind.
